GRAMMY Advocacy

District Advocate Day, Oct. 18, 2017, was a success, and being the only person registered for this District, it was especially important that I not only showed up, but that I was prepared.

My meeting with Rep. Virginia Foxx held Thursday, Oct 19th to better accommodate her schedule, went very well, capturing her attention, and causing her to take note of our concerns.

The letter received following our meeting is encouraging, and assures that she can be counted on.

I’m extremely proud to represent my district and be an advocate for something I’m so passionate about, music.

Enough With Entertainer Smear Campaigns!

In light of the Prince smear campaign, I’ve got to speak up. This happens too often with those people who not only entertain us, but enrich our lives, and become a part of our journey through life.

Though many would like to personally know their entertainer heroes, you’re given the opportunity to share in the creativity and talent they chose to share.

Does learning of their personal lives, takeaway from the art, music, movies, writing, etc., that they gave you? It shouldn’t.

So, for the entertainers I know, work with, love, and support… Thank you! For sharing your gift with me, and countless others. What you choose to do in your personal life, is just that; personal. And frankly, is none of anyone’s business during your life or death.

Now loaded on my iPod, the memories and era of these great songs came flooding back. Janet has always been a favorite of mine, just as her brother Michael and I really hope that she is loved, appreciated and recognized while she is still with us.  Continue reading
